We now know the launch date of the new MOS 2.0 portal: the Office for Foreigners has announced that the system will go live on April 27th 2026, and from that date onwards, applications for temporary residence, permanent residence, and EU long-term resident permits will be submitted exclusively in electronic form via MOS.
Please note that applications submitted through the new MOS portal must be signed with the applicant’s Trusted Signature (Podpis Zaufany). Therefore, every foreign national applying for a residence permit will be required to have a Trusted Profile (Profil Zaufany).
Persons planning to submit an application in the traditional paper form must do so before the launch of MOS 2.0. The paper application must be received by the voivodeship office no later than 26 April 2026. If a paper application is received after that date, it will be left without examination – the date of posting will not be relevant.
Furthermore, as of May 4th 2026, eligible Ukrainian citizens will be able to submit applications for the issuance of a CUKR residence card.
