The issue of workplace attire, particularly the question of wearing undergarments, raises many uncertainties. On one hand, the requirement for a neat appearance may conflict with cultural norms. On the other hand, the absence of a bra in the workplace could be perceived as sexual harassment. What do the experts suggest in this situation?

 

In an article for Prawo.pl, Marcin Frąckowiak – Managing Counsel and Legal Adviser in the Labour Law Department at Sadkowski i Wspólnicy – commented on this issue. In his opinion, an employer’s definition of neat attire does not conflict with the dignity of the employee.

He stated: “I strongly support the position that the matter of wearing undergarments, as well as neat attire in the workplace, should be regulated within the workplace policy, rather than being a unilateral directive from the employer.”
