The AML Package, a new set of EU regulations, is a response to the growing threat of money laundering and terrorist financing. According to the new provisions, a legal basis is established for the operation of the new EU supervisory authority (AMLA), which will coordinate national efforts and directly supervise selected entities with an international scope that are at the highest risk of money laundering and terrorist financing.
