In the December issue, among others:

• an amendment to aviation law concerning, among other things, unlocking opportunities for the spatial development of Polish cities by modifying specific planning and zoning rules in the vicinity of airports;
• the introduction of new definitions of a structure and building in 2025;
• draft of a new law on special rules for the preparation and implementation of strategic investments in the needs of state defense and the establishment of protective zones for closed areas.

Our expert highlighted that, on 27 November 2024, during the third reading of the Law on Amendments to the Geodetic and Cartographic Law and the Law on Amendments to the Law on Planning and Spatial Development and Spatial Development concerning the extension until December 31, 2027 of the transitional period in which the possibility of maintaining a base map in vector form or in raster form supplemented systematically with vector data by the district governors was allowed, under the rules applied before January 1, 2014, and the postponement of the deadline for expanding the scope of spatial data for local plans, a vote was held on the bill in its entirety. The Act was passed and submitted to the President for signature.
